An Essay on the Reasons for Making Chrome Adrenaline

For over a year I worked on a project I could proudly present as being smart, sexy, and cool. The three adjectives I was truly-aiming to encapsulate in this 16 track LP. I wanted to create something that sonically and poetically seemed to capture the essence of my favorite film and anime concepts (Alien, Mad Max, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Matrix, Blade Runner;

Falling Down, Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Spriggan, Cyberpunk, Hackers, Strange Days, True Romance, Cool World, etc): In Chrome Adrenaline (part homage to Twista who I had the privilege to work for), I wanted to create a hip hop soundscape. that could be described through the synthesis of those films, an aural experience to get your adrenaline pumping, a soundtrack to huff chrome paint to (Fury Road): Think fast raps, fast cars, fast women, and even faster information. I began building out my own hip hop universe, conceptually. A universe based mostly in satirical cynicism, where the darker sides of fantasy and science fiction help to better explain our current reality.

Simultaneously, Chrome Adrenaline is the type of album and tape that you can pop in and absorb, void of drawing any extrapolated interpretation, something to get you going, get you moving, dancing, get you hyped, but if you're not mythologizing more about what it means, then i have also done what I set out to do.

The arrival of Chrome Adrenaline is the genesis of a hip hop universe where the messages, events, situations, and themes mirror and reflect those of the popular media we consume, for better or for worse. While also setting a course to articulate entirely new lore for my Dukes & Duchesses. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your drive to wherever your destination is..made a bit more exciting by the experience of Chrome Adrenaline.
